WARDROBE: New York Fashion Week: Four things we loved today
1) Tracy Reese's sequined trompe-l'oeil dress. Why? Because we have a weakness for shiny things (sequins, paillettes, glitter, all of it, and we're not joking.) And because it's very 1930s Paris without looking costumey.
2)Max Azria's use of silk and ombre. We especially love the way the graduated color is used to update the slipdress here.
3) Thakoon's slouchy paillette t-shirt dress. It's so low-maintenance and glamorous at the same time. Plus, it's shiny (see point #1.) We'd take this over a traditional party dress any night.
4) Our lunch break at Tia Pol. The best thing about so many shows happening so far on the Westside is that it puts us closer to our favorite Tapas restaurant Tia Pol. We've already eaten there twice this week: king oyster mushroom carpaccio, marinated crisy fish, and these amazing crispy potatoes in a tangy sauce.
